Tickets for public transport are available at a price of 1.90 € from your hotel or from central stops and stations or from ticket machines on the bus or tram. Using the tram is not advisable with bulky and heavy luggage since the campus is located on top of a steep hill in a distance of 200 metres footpath.
Depart from bus stop city centre/Teichgraben or Westbahnhofstraße using the following lines
- 10 (Damaschkeweg)
- 11 (Beutenberg Campus)
- 12 (Bahnhof Göschwitz)
- 13 (Bahnhof Göschwitz/Leutra)
until you get to the stop Beutenberg Campus, then walk down the steps at the opposite bus stop leading to Beutenbergstraße. Walk straight on until you see the main entrance of the institute.
Depart from tram stop city centre/Löbdergraben or Paradiesbahnhof West using the following lines
- 2 (Winzerla)
- 3 (Lobeda-Ost)
until you get to the stop Ringwiese, then walk uphill along Hermann-Löns-Straße and turn left into Beutenbergstaße. Head straight on for about 100 metres until you get to the main entrance of the institute.
From north or south direction, get off at the station Jena-Paradies. Leave the station building heading left until you get to the tram stop Paradiesbahnhof West. Alternatively, you can walk for 5 minutes until you get to the bus stop city centre/Teichgraben.
From west or east direction, get off at the station Jena West and take the rear exit. After 100 metres, you will get to the bus stop Westbahnhofstraße (uphill).
Take the suburban train (S-Bahn) or the shuttle bus from the airport Halle/Leipzig to Leipzig Central Station. From there, take a train to the station Jena-Paradies.
From the airport Frankfurt/Main, take the train to Erfurt or Weimar, change trains for Jena West.
From the motorway A9 exit to the A4 at the junction Hermsdorfer Kreuz in the direction Erfurt and Frankfurt/Main. Exit the motorway A4 for Jena-Göschwitz, then drive along Rudolstädter Straße in the direction Zentrum (city centre).
After approx. 5 km turn left into Winzerlaer Straße/Beutenberg Campus and follow the road for about 1 km until you get to the Beutenberg Campus.
When you see a bus stop, turn right there into Hermann-Löns-Straße and right again after 100 metres into Beutenbergstraße.
After 100 metres you will see the main entrance of the institute. For visitors’ car parks, which you are welcome to use upon request, drive further 50 metres straight ahead.
You will find further parking facilities on Hermann-Löns-Straße.
