We would like to announce that the registration for MiCom 2018 is open now.
November 2, 2017
MiCom has always been a fundamental part of the JSMC and is reaching a wider and more diverse audience each year. The 7th International Conference on Microbial Communication for Young Scientist is to be held from 19th to 22nd March 2018 at the university Jena.
We have 5 sessions comprising the essence of the microbiological research in Jena. The sessions and corresponding invited speakers are as follows.
- Chemical Ecology: Christian Kost, Christine Beemelmanns
- Environment: Colomban de Vargas, Anna Gorbushina
- Natural Products: Uffe Mortensen, Pierre Stallforth
- Pathogenesis: Hubertus Haas, Ilse Jacobsen
- Systems Biology: Marnix Medema, Gianni Panagiotou
The participants can either present a poster or a talk. For this, you have to choose a session and submit your abstracts until 21st January 2018.
Besides the sessions, we have ‘meet the expert’ workshops, a tradition that is unique to very few conferences like MiCom. The workshops are tailored to foster exchange of experiences and ideas among the attendants and experts in the given field. These experts consist of conference speakers and local researchers from Jena. Each participant can choose three such workshops and accordingly we shall distribute in a manner that suits most of you.
To ensure you have great time, in addition to the scientific part we have a wide range of social events like science slam, conference dinner, city tour, and many more.
We hope many of you will be part of this conference!
Hope to see many of you at MiCom next year!
With best wishes form the MiCom 2018 organization team
