Transparent and reproducible research practices: Research DataManagement to the rescue

It is often claimed that data is the "oil of the 21st century", reflecting it's increasing value in our society. The appropriate processing and handling of data is an essential prerequisite for reliable and reproducible results in research. In addition, the critical assessment of obtained insights and their transformation to actionable solutions in the real world require a comprehensible documentation of all steps in data processing and analysis or even access the underlying data itself.

Therefore, research data management (RDM) is a key facet when working with data. The presentation gives an overview of general concepts and requirements regarding the handling of data. In addition, practical hints regarding the implementation of RDM in daily work will be discussed.

Speaker: Volker Schwartze, Research Data Management Helpdesk, FSU Jena
