At the "21 JCF Frühjahrssymposium and 2nd European Young Chemists' Meeting (EYCheM)" which took place in Bremen from March 21-23, 2019, Veit Hänsch received the award for the best talk. Veit presented his work on the photosplicing reaction.

Mareike Scheven received an award for her poster presentation at the The 16th International Aspergillus Meeting (Asperfest 16) which took place from March 11-12, 2019 in Pacific Grove, CA, USA. Mareike's poster was entitled "The monothiol glutaredoxin GrxD interacts with the iron regulator HapX and CmtA, a protein with yet unknown function in Aspergillus fumigatus".
